Everything PLOT does

PLOT is a focused tool, not a Swiss-army-CAD-package. The features below are the ones that move the needle when you're planning a paddock, siting a shed, or running fence line on a piece of land you actually own. Your real property, your real measurements, the layout you can defend to a contractor.

Start with your address

Typing a few characters of an address is faster than panning a map of the world to your driveway. PLOT's hero search covers global addresses first and falls back to community-mapped sources for rural properties that commercial geocoders haven't indexed. Country-of-result is shown next to every match so a "Maple Street" in Calgary, Canada doesn't collide with the one in Calgary, Australia.

Once you pick a result, the editor opens centred on your property at the zoom where you can already see structures and fence lines. From the first click you're drawing on the place you came to plan. not on Minneapolis-by-default.

25+ drawing tools, built for the things on a rural property

Generic mapping tools give you "polygon" and "line." That's the same as handing you a pencil and saying good luck. PLOT ships a typed library covering the infrastructure that actually goes on a rural property. every tool knows its default colour, default symbol, and useful default attributes (dam volume, septic distance-to-well, fence material).

Structures

Sheds, barns, houses, garages, stables, chicken coops, arenas. Drop, drag-resize, label.

Boundaries & lines

Paddocks, fences (post-and-wire, mesh, ringlock, electric), gates, drainage runs, tree lines, windbreaks.

Water

Dams, water tanks, bores, troughs, water lines (above- and below-ground). Measure setback distances live.

Power & comms

Power lines, solar panels, generator pads, comms tower locations. Track buried-vs-overhead for safe-digging records.

Access

Driveways, internal roads, parking pads, vehicle turning circles. Curved-line tool with smooth bezier interpolation.

Plant & vegetation

Gardens, orchards, vineyards, individual feature trees. Useful for shade modelling and shelter belts.

Sanitation

Septic systems, soakage trenches, greywater. Pair with the live distance-to-well readout for compliance setbacks.

Custom types

Anything we haven't covered. define your own type with a custom colour and symbol and reuse it across projects.

Drawing happens on a fast, responsive canvas with generous undo / redo (50 steps) and careful input handling so labels always come out clean. A debounced auto-save keeps your work safe as you draw, locally and, once you're signed in, to your account.

Satellite imagery, included on every tier

Most planning tools give you a single basemap and call it done. PLOT ships the high-resolution one to every authenticated tier:

Maxar Vivid (30cm) for everyone

Every tier runs on Maxar Vivid imagery at 30 centimetres per pixel, close enough to count fence posts, distinguish a water tank from a silo, and see the colour of last year's pasture grass.

Every tier reaches the standard property-planning zoom that puts a paddock comfortably inside the viewport, so the imagery you draw on is the same whether you are on Free, Pro, Pro+, Team, or Enterprise.

Live measurements as you draw

Every polygon shows its area live; every line shows length; angles between adjacent segments appear at vertex hover. Units are your unit preference . stored on your account, defaulting to imperial for US visitors, metric + acres for Canada (the "acreage but metres" convention rural Canadians actually use), metric for everyone else. Toggle from the Settings page; the count-up animations re-settle on change.

Measurements use proven geospatial maths that stays accurate even on large properties, not a rough approximation that drifts as your land gets bigger.

Cloud save, sharing, multi-device sync

Every device you sign in on stays in sync. Edit a plan on your laptop, walk out to the paddock, open it on your phone and your laptop's last save is already there.

What you keep in the cloud depends on your tier. Free covers up to 2 projects with up to 10 layers each, enough to map one property end to end. Pro lifts the layer cap to unlimited and raises the project ceiling to 20; Pro+, Team, and Enterprise are unlimited on both. What bites first is layers, not project count, so the upgrade comes when your one property outgrows ten layers, not when you start a second project. When you reach a limit, plot prompts you to upgrade rather than getting in the way of the work you have already saved.

How sharing works

Sharing is a paid feature. From the share modal on any of your projects you can invite anyone - a contractor, a council planner, a neighbour, your accountant - to open the plan. They get a private link that opens the editor on your map.

What they can do on the shared map depends on their tier. Recipients on a paid account can edit alongside you, with the same conflict-detection that protects your own multi-device workflow. Recipients on a Free account view the plan in a read-only mode - every layer toggleable, every feature inspectable, but no drawing or editing tools. That split is the bargain that lets Free stay free: anyone you invite can see your work, no signup wall; anyone who wants to edit a shared map needs a paid account.

Shares can be revoked from the same modal at any time. Downgrading to Free flips any maps you had open for editing back to view-only for collaborators; no data is deleted.

Branded shareable plans (Pro+)

Pro+ turns a finished plan into a deliverable. Shareable plans carry your own branding and can be embedded on your own site, so the plan you hand a contractor or a council looks like yours rather than a generic export.

Shared team access (Team)

Team goes a step further than one-off shares. Saved projects can be grouped into teams, so instead of inviting people to each map individually you align users to a team and the whole team can view and edit that team's projects together. Add someone to the team and they see every project the team owns; the projects a team works on stay in one shared place rather than scattered across personal accounts. Enterprise keeps the same shared team access and adds white-label and per-deployment options on top.

Open the same plan in as many browser tabs as you like. They stay in step with each other, so your map and your account stay consistent no matter how many tabs you have running.

Export to the formats you already use

PLOT saves your work as a project (every layer, every measurement, every attribute, fully round-trippable), and exports to PDF and image, so you can hand a clean plan to a contractor, attach it to a council submission, or drop it into an email without anyone needing an account.

Every export is built carefully so your feature labels come through exactly as you wrote them, with nothing lost or mangled along the way.
